I'm getting stuff done this weekend.... The kind of stuff that means my house is totally neglected (that's nothing new) but I'm updating my photography business website and this poor blog and getting all my pictures organized. I'm looking back and realizing I've missed a LOT since basketball season started.
Speaking of... Cheer, dance and band went to NJCAA women's basketball nationals in Salina Kansas last week. We survived both of the 20 hour bus rides. We lost the first game but stayed an extra day to rest and see the zoo and go to dinner. It was a good experience and everyone was positive (for the most part!) I think we were all glad to be home though. :)
I'll try and post some more updates over the next little while (like Halloween and Christmas... You know... Stuff a half a year ago...) I look back at those pictures and my girls have grown up so much since then! It's all happening too fast!

Clara Says the darndest things (pt. 5)
"How old are you dad, 48?"
We get our food from the drive through window and she exclaims in her best quarter-Canadian accent, "Where are the fries, eh?"
"Chocolate is my favorite color. Soon we can paint the walls chocolate!"
"You should change your problems to dessert."
"Clara, no more dessert today."
"But cupcakes aren't dessert!"
After I kissed her boo-boos when she fell down... "I'm okay-er"
"I'm full up to here" (holds her hand up to her collar bone) "but I have room in my neck for ice cream!"
She doesn't just have an imaginary friend, she has an entire imaginary cheer team and children. She is ALWAYS talking about her "cheerleaders and daughters." She once told me her daughters are named "Melanie, Kelanie, and Felanie." She slept on the floor the other night because her cheerleaders and daughters were occupying her bed. She's gotten mad at me for standing on her cheerleaders and daughters. She tells her dance teacher about them. She tells grandma about them. She puts out table settings for them. I can't flush the toilet until after her cheerleaders and daughters have had the chance to go. (Too much information?) It's pretty intense.
"Mom, what are you going to be when you grow up?"
"I'm going to be your mom."
"You can't be a MOM when you grow up! That's SILLY!"
"Alright then, Clara, what are you going to be when you grow up?"
"I'm going to be a firefighter and I'm going to bring out my bag of marshmallows and we're going to eat them and fire out the fire!"
Mixed up exclamations of "oh my gosh" and "oh nuts" turns out to be... "Oh my nuts!"
After getting in the car to go to a family gathering...
"We'd better stop at the Stinker Station first. We're out of gas!" (Dad)
"I wanna go to the Licker Station!" (Says Clara as I spew my drink out of my mouth laughing)
"Clara, what's at the licker station?"
"That's where we lick suckers!"
"If you're happy and you know it... eat a cookie!"
"Clara, come inside, it's too cold to be out there without a jacket."
She comes up to the back door and sings "The cold never bothered me anyway!" and dramatically shuts the door. We may have watched Frozen a few (dozen) times this past week.
We're doing a Jillian Michaels yoga workout and Clara asks,
"Is eating exercise?"
We are a little obsessed with eating (sweets) in our house. She may get that from me... Here are some pictures of her from last fall (2013). I like this haircut on her. We may do it again for the summer!
