Solids!

I am sooo sick today! And it's my birthday. :( So what else is there to do but sniffle, sneeze & blog??? I'm just glad that Dennis took me out to dinner last night. Clara also got a treat last night- her first solid food! She had her 4 month Dr's appointment yesterday and she is 25 1/4 in. tall and 13 lbs 2 oz (90th percentile height, 50th weight). He gave the go-ahead on rice cereal so we decided we'd try it!

Famous Look-Alikes

Amy over at "Our Life Uncommon" did a post about famous look-alikes in her family... That sounded fun, so I thought I'd share some from my family!

We think my youngest brother Dylan looks like Harry Potter. It could just be the long hair and matching forehead scars (except Dylan got his from a hockey puck and not from an evil wizard)

My sister Tara is Barbie. She probably has more clothes than Barbie though.

Don't worry Amy, I get Drew Barrymore alot too... Maybe because I talk out of the side of my mouth. I think she looks like Mona Lisa... So I had to find my Mona Lisa-esque pic from high school.
I've been told twice that I look like Katie Holmes. I don't see it, but I'll take that as a compliment!

My dad's been told he looks like Bill Murray. I think he looks like the oh-so-deliciously-handsome Gerard Butler. What do you think of the name Gerard for a boy? It's my grandma's maiden name... I like it. Or maybe I just like Gerard Butler. Who knows.

My mom looks like Sarah Palin. (Just as a side note, can I say how horrible it was looking for a pic of Sarah Palin? There are so many crude photoshops of her it's sad. I hate how the media has had so much fun making fun of her and her family... but back to the look-alikes.)

Dennis has been told he looks like a young Paul Newman.

He's also been told he looks like the Russian guy from Rocky... I think that's just because they're both tall white guys. (I think this pic of Dennis is hilarious by the way. I was a little taken-aback the first time I saw it on his MySpace after we first met. Hahaha)

I found a look-alike for everyone but my brother Josh... Any ideas??? Maybe a little Ashton Kutcher? I dunno...

...And Clara looks like her daddy. That's an easy one. ;)

August?!

Is it the middle of August already?!? Clara is almost 4 months old! And it feels really weird to not be going to school for the first time in... Let's see... 17 years. Weird. I'll probably take a couple of classes in the Spring semester though. We will see how Clara is doing by then.

Right now, Clara is doing wonderfully well. She loves to talk and sing and giggle when you say funny words like "birthday" and "hello" (and pretty much anything else in a high pitch silly voice with a smile on your face.) She also loves to drool on everything and stand on your lap. She can roll over if she wants to, but her arm still kinda gets in the way. Her hair still hasn't grown much, but she's got the longest prettiest eye lashes I've ever seen! She is still a good sleeper and sleeps from about 10 pm to 10 am. We love her so much!

Dennis came in from the garden a couple days ago and said "take a picture of me and Clara and this huge beet!" So I did. I love my husband's enthusiasm. I also love her face in this picture... Do you think she'll like vegetables?

Footsies

My brother and sister came over to have dinner and watch a movie with me a few nights ago while Dennis was at a church meeting. When he got home he decided to join us on the floor. All of the sudden my sister started giggling. My husband must've really been into the movie because he was rubbing her feet. We let it go on for a little while longer until our laughs broke his concentration and he realized he was playing with the wrong foot. He was a little embarrased to say the least. Hahahaha!

...Don't worry. I still got a food rub out of the deal. ;)

Have you ever played footsies with the wrong person? It's quite a dangerous game!
