Tumbling slideshow

I was looking around on the Burbank Photography blog and found a link to a video that Randy put together of some tumbling at CSI... I wonder if I always look so serious while I tumble. And mom, don't critique my form too harshly, because in slow-mo like this you can see everything I do wrong! ;) Cool video, though!

Car Wash!

Did I mention that I'm going to be an assistant cheer coach at the BRAND NEW High School next year? Go Hawks! We had tryouts last weekend, took 18 girls & 3 guys on Varsity, 15 on JV. That's a lot of cheerleaders! They found out if they made the team Friday night, and then we had a combined fundraiser with the basketball team the very next morning. Here are some pictures from the day's festivities:

Brad from KEZJ brought the KEZJ truck for the girls and guys to wash. They kept really busy and I hope they had a lot of fun!

This holiday weekend was also fun for our cows. There was a little bit of branding, a little bit of shot giving, a little bit of ear piercing, and a little bit of AI-ing... Sadly, I took no pictures. :( lol

I very much enjoy all of the time that I get to spend with my husband doing what he loves to do. It's fun to watch him be a cowboy, and I'm sure it's fun to watch me when I have absolutely no idea what's going on. I hope Dennis and John (Dennis' dad) don't get too annoyed with all of my many questions! I've really come a long way, really. When Dennis and I were first dating I asked what the difference was between a bull and a steer... The answer might've made me blush just a bit... :)

A dash of color

In the last post I mentioned that we were painting a wall in our living room... Well, here it is! The pictures aren't that great, but I love my new red wall! Our living room is already a little dark, and the dark red makes it even darker, so there's now a lamp by the piano. I'm excited because I can actually see my piano music now when I play.

It goes wonderfully with the americana themed living room. Now I just need to figure out how to arrange everything, maybe get some vinyl lettering on the walls. We already have some in the kitchen and I love it! It's hard to see in this picture, but it says "bienvenidos!" (which is welcome in Spanish). I also love Dennis' smile as he fixes the blinds, and his shirt that makes me think of Steve on Blues Clues. Isn't he such a handsome handyman?

It's fun decorating our own house. It took me over a year to get brave enough to paint anything, but now I think we'll add some color in the bedroom and spare bedroom. So much fun! :)

Bloom Where You're Planted

I'm finally done with the semester! I'm looking forward to a wonderful summer. Today has been so relaxing! Dennis took the next three days off of work for a mini summer vacation. We slept in this morning, had a yummy breakfast, and are currently working on painting a wall in our living room. I'll post a picture when it's all finished. I'm excited. I love color!

Until then, I have more pictures of the yard. :)

There are two things that I've always wanted, but never had. First is a trellis.
And second, are window boxes! I love my window boxes!

Also, speaking of flowers and "blooming where you're planted," I wanted to include some pictures of my ESL students' artwork. They're all adults and they've all had to adjust to a new life, in a new country, with a new language. That would be so tough! They amaze me every day. We played bingo to help practice body vocabulary on Tuesday. They've also become quite talented at "head shoulders knees and toes." I love using songs in the classroom! Here is some of their amazing artwork..

High Quality Entertainment

This little performing group is called "Cheer Studs." Every year for the last pep assembly the 9th grade boys put on skirts and do a little routine. Last year's performed to "I feel like a woman" by Shania Twain, and this year I chose to choreograph to "Mickey" by Toni Basil. :) If you've seen the music video you'll recognize a few moves...
