Today was another free day on the island of Caye Caluker. It's our last full day of our trip so this will be our last post! Olaf went for a stroll along the beach with us this morning.
Don't get caught in the lobster traps Olaf!
On the island the motto is "go slow." The only cars are the delivery trucks. The three main modes of transportation are bikes, golf carts, and walking! We rented a bike for an hour ($5 US for the two of us) and took a tour around the island. The locals ride with a kid sitting in the front basket, so Olaf wanted to ride like the locals.
We found this place for G-pop to stay when he comes to the island. ;-)
We bought all the rest of our souvenirs today. Most of them from a nice Guatemalan lady with a cute little toddler named Dalisa. At one of the shops Olaf thought it would be a good idea to get a "picha" with this guy. He heard that we're going back to the Idaho winter tomorrow!
We have really really enjoyed our trip to Belize. Our favorite parts of the trip were seeing the monstrous ruins at Tikal and spending every minute of the past nine days with each other. I'm not actually sure if we've ever spent this much consecutive time together and it's been nice! We hope to be able to do another trip like this again in another ten years! :-D
Thank you for sharing it all! I can't really imagine taking such a fantastic trip. Awesome for you two!
