Reason #3 Why Summer ROCKS!

CHEER CAMP!!!!!!!

Those two weeks of back-to-back cheer camps was the most I've been away from Clara... EVER! It was weird. I missed her. I missed Dennis. I got some good workouts though and the girls all did amazingly well. The first week was a local camp and I taught like a bazillion routines and cheers. My brain was overflowing with choreography, and my muscles were wanting to kill me after three days! Canyon Ridge Cheer went to an NCA camp at BSU. We got to eat the most delicious food at the BSU cafeteria. I am salivating just thinking about it. The culinary arts program was "practicing" the whole time we were there. I immediately gained every pound I worked off (and then some) by stuffing my little guinea pig face! Plus, I came back home to my daughter all the sudden looking and acting like a two-year-old. What?! That's what happens when you're gone for two and a half days...

Reason #2 Why Summer ROCKS!

Fresh sweet strawberries (and mint) from the garden. You can't buy strawberries that red in the store!

Camping Trip

Dennis' sister Kamilla came up with the brilliant idea of going on a camping trip this summer. We packed up Clara and headed North to Baumgartner Campground in the Smoky Mountains.

Yep. I live in the most beautiful state. :)

...Even if it is a little windy.

We arrived at the campground and Clara took charge telling us where to set up the tent.

It wasn't long before Sharlene, Joe & Kami arrived.

I swear her eyes get bluer all the time...

There was a lot of snack sharing between the cousins.

And hugs...

And kisses...

We FINALLY gave Sharlene one of her birthday presents (a month late). I made her and Clara coordinating Boise State cheer outfits from upcycled tee shirts. I think I'll be making more of these!

The girls did okay sleeping in tents, but they both decided to wake up bright and early!

Later in the morning it warmed up a bit and we went on a short hike.

My husband is such a good-looking hiker. :-)

We had a good time on our camping trip and hope to make it an annual tradition!
