Hair

Anyone that knows me is aware that I consider brushing my hair and putting it into a ponytail as "doing my hair" for the day. And so far with Clara's hair all we've really done is put it in piggy tails. Twice we've blowdried it with a round brush to make it flip out. I don't dare use a curling iron or straightener on her, and I just can't imagine curlers staying in for very long (nor holding still long enough for me to get them in... even if I knew how to do it!)

I am determined to learn this thing that I have yet to master after 24 years of being a girl... HAIR! Ahh!!!

I've found that even on a wiggly toddler it's easier to do on someone else than it is on yourself. Here are a couple attempts:

A tiered piggy tail thingy...

She has got the craziest cowlick on the back of her head. I never know how to tame that thing!... Another reason I don't do my own hair, because mine is worse!

For french braids I tried parting it down the middle. I think her hair dried too much by the time I got to the left braid because it didn't turn out as good, but she was sooo done by then!

Someday... Someday I will be good at it... And maybe someday it will only take one person to do her hair (unlike now where it takes Dennis & May as distractions in order to get it done!)

  1. Good job, momma! Her hair looked so pretty both times and it made her look super grown up. I am way impressed with both dos. I need to do try some different styles with Shar's hair too one of these days.
