Miss you!

Dear Auntie Tara & Uncle Kolby,

We are so happy that you guys are in an exciting new place with many adventures awaiting you, however we miss just being able to drive less than ten minutes to see you! We hope you have fun in the warm St. George weather and get to play lots with cousin Jace. We miss him and aunt Donielle & uncle Josh too! Why do you all live so far away?! 

Anyway, here are a few pictures for you to think of us and laugh at Clara pretending to be "Pedo head!"

I'm not ready!

I suppose my organizing kick as of late might be considered "nesting" or I might've just been absolutely disgusted with the state of my house (most likely both) but all of the sudden I'm realizing that I've got plus or minus three months until this new baby girl comes! I'm not ready!!!

So naturally, the first most important thing is that this little one has some cute hats to wear. I only had one hat that fit Clara as a newborn and it was yellow with little animals on it. I was grateful to have it, but this time around there are some things I can improve on! I'm afraid that the bottom two are more 3-6 month size (who needs a warm hat in the summer???) so I should probably make at least one more in the right size.

 

Baby #2 (we have yet to decide on a name) got some cute outfits for Christmas (another thing Clara was lacking- NB clothes small enough to actually FIT her!) and I thought this little strawberry outfit would be really cute to come home in. 

Doesn't it go well with Clara's green polka-dot coming home outfit? And I love the little sleep & plays with the fold over cuffs on the arms to prevent face scratches. So smart.

They're both NB size Carter's, but the pink one looks a smidge bigger & longer... Maybe that's because it isn't washed yet. Hmm... I just remember the green outfit still being really big on Clara, but maybe this baby will be more average than she was (every time I go in for an ultrasound she measures a few days smaller for her due date so probably not... But they still keep the due date at the original adjusted date for the 23rd of
April... The original original date was April 13th. Confusing?)

Won't it look cute with the sweet little white hat? It's crazy to think that people start out so small...

Necesita un casco

Today Clara wanted to play in her Johnny Jump Up... She absolutely loves that thing. Mostly she likes to wind herself up then pick up her feet and just spin like crazy. She does a little jumping and swinging too.

We ran into some issues with our door frames not being quite big enough to accommodate this crazy munchkin. She's hit her head many many times, despite propping up pillows and using my hands trying to act as bumpers... So I decided she needed to wear her pink bike helmet.

In the summer we could hardly get her to keep it on longer than a second, but now she LOVES that thing! She got so mad at me when I took it off her for her afternoon nap and right when she woke up she wanted her "hat... Pink!" back on. It's now going on three hours later and she still won't let me take it off.

I love this face! Hahaha!!!

Daddy came home for lunch and Clara got a push.

I seriously think that her pink helmet is a good addition to her everyday wardrobe. 

For a kid this crazy, it suits her very well!

Organize: The snack/medicine cabinet

Time Spent: Less than 30 minutes

The Task:  Make the space usable again by organizing the medicines & snacks so that they can easily be seen. Clear out all the expired food. :-P

Results: This was a relatively quick project, but it really needed done. There's room for crackers on the bottom shelf, short boxes in the middle (hot cocoa, oatmeal, popcorn...) and now I can fit my cereal on the top shelf instead of above the fridge! :) I am so happy to have less stuff on top the fridge now. I still keep my scentsy wax in the snack cupboard since I keep the scentsy just below it (seemed logical enough to me!) 

Clara has been pushing the chairs against the kitchen counters (tying two chairs together didn't work- she'd just push both chairs... tying the chairs to the table didn't work- she just broke the string) and getting into the above cabinets! I didn't want the medicine to be kept in such an accessible place (the bottom two shelves) so I moved them to the shelf in the laundry room (which will be another project entirely!) The medicines were organized in $1 shoe tubs from WalMart. There's one box for baby meds, one box for adult meds, and one box for bandaids, gauze, wraps, ice packs, etc.
