Curlies

Sunday is our day to get dressed up. I've never been too fond of skirts, dresses, tights, heels and the like (I generally don't like anything that would prohibit me from being able to do a cartwheel) but I do feel differently (in a good way) when I wear them to church. Sundays are a special, holy day for us in the LDS Church and we like to set this day apart from the rest by putting on our "Sunday best" when we attend our meetings.

This is usually the day I try and do something new with Clara's hair. I have never before used curlers (or curlies as Clara now calls them) and I'm not that good with a curling iron so I don't dare even have one in the same room as my 2 1/2 year old. I found these lil' plastic ones at the dollar store and decided to give them a try.

After doing some research on eHow I put my new knowledge to work on Clara's hair.

It's really difficult to try new things when your subject won't hold still. Despite our struggles, I think it was pretty cute.

I got these funky ridges at the top so we added a couple more.

I think I need to splurge and spend another $1 on another set.

I tried to direct her "posing" by telling her to "bounce her curls like this" (using my hand to bounce my curls) but she just ran to her bedroom...

...So she could really bounce her curls.

Maylee bounced for a minute too.

  3. This is soooo adorable! I did notice Clara's hair in sacrament meeting and thought it looked curly and pouffy and pretty. Now I know that rest of the story!
